Tiger Mountain

Magian Design Studio worked with the Exhibit Team at Wildlife Conservation Society to design a conceptual and technical framework for the media installations for the Tiger Mountain Exhibit. Following this work WCS was awarded an IMLF Grant to finance the implementation of the media for this exhibit.

Magian produced the media and designed the technical infrastructure for Tiger Mountain. The exhibit interpretation concentrates on communicating the complex relationships between people and animals through story telling and the celebration of the majesty and splendor of the tigers. Conservation is the key component. Apart from two viewing pavilions the exhibit path is outdoors. The Exhibits and Graphics team at WCS provided the graphic design guidelines. Magian worked with staff on media integration, developing content scripts and multimedia programs and editing original video footage gathered from many sources. Sound was provided from Magian’s extensive sound library.

All of the programs operate in Tiger Mountain within the Magian MMaP and DiAC Systems. Magian designed and created:

  • interactive programs for touchscreens
  • video programs for projection screens
  • interactive systems for keeper demonstrations and animal training sessions
  • a camera trap program
  • multi-channel soundscapes
