The National Health Museum in Washington DC is a museum in the making. While developing what will be a major national institution the museum tested their intention to distribute public health information to other public institutions.
After consultation with a group of interested museum professionals the museum embarked on an ambitious Pilot Program to evaluate the delivery of reliable and accessible public health information to satellite sites around the nation.
Magian was contracted to work with NHM and their Advisory Group to define the content and media as well as the technology required to carry out the Pilot. The group selected Flu as the topic to be covered during life of the Pilot program.
Magian developed a large format touchscreen program for public display and also a private website to provide support and deeper information to staff and educators at participating institutions. Content updates were regularly sent to the kiosks and the website with the latest news tracking national developments regarding the Flu.
