Magian worked with the staff at Montana State University to design Studio 1080. We established a technical and user interface design for this innovative academic lounge, located in the Engineering faculty at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana.
Studio 1080 is a place where students and staff can gather to view programs developed by colleagues that demonstrate or illustrate a wide range of research and other activities in various faculties. Access to the Internet, Television, Powerpoint and an Audio System is provided as part of the functionality of Studio 1080.
The core program Magian designed for Studio 1080 is known as the Collaboration Console. Delivered on 26” touchscreens it provides, amongst other things, access to any media produced remotely by students or staff for the space.
An integrated system allows for media programs to be displayed both on 65” touchscreens and a Hi-Definition projector. These screens are also able to deliver digital assets to support seminars or presentations.
Magian’s MMaP System and Content Manager provides the engine that allows students and staff on campus to remotely create and deliver interactive multimedia programs to be viewed in Studio 1080.
Students and staff are able to “build” programs remotely from a selection of up to six graphic interfaces and a number of program structures enabled by the MMaPS Content Manager which is distributed using the Studio 1080 website. The Studio 1080 website is the principle point of access for students and staff to create media programs for delivery into the space.
The Content Manager is also used by staff at Studio 1080 through a sophisticated set of interconnections that enable the programs developed remotely to be seamlessly delivered into the space at Studio 1080.
Studio 1080 staff receive and review all programs and schedule them as required to be delivered either for a specific event or for a specified period of time.
