Espacio Cultural y Educativo Betlemitas
Museo Interactivo De Economia

This innovative museum is located in Mexico City in a beautifully restored monastery originally opened in 1766. Based on a science center model its objective is to provide a resource, particularly for young people, to discover the workings of economics. Museum staff designed the exhibits with Academy Studios of California. Magian helped develop the creative intent for the media aspects of the exhibits. We also designed and specified the hardware and technical infrastructure to allow for the media content to be easily changed and updated. The Magian MMaP System enables staff to deliver on their commitment to communicate relevant economic issues to visitors through the realities of everyday life.

MMaPS was also used by Museum staff to manage content during the development of the exhibits. The Museum will operate using the MMaP System as an automated, integrated and centralized media publishing system which can deliver content to exhibits on a schedule of regular change. This enables staff to keep the information in the programs current with change and events in the economic lives of its audience. The Museum’s ambient soundscapes and the interactivity of all media exhibits is controlled by Magian’s DiAC System.

Magian designed and produced over forty media exhibits including:

  • touchscreen programs
  • multi-screen video programs
  • projected video programs
  • soundscapes
  • a multi-user game
  • staff control of media exhibits from PDA
  • presentation theaters
