Shark Reef Aquarium is located at Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas. The aquarium was designed and is administered by Vancouver Aquarium for the casino. 

Magian worked with Vancouver Aquarium staff to develop the interpretation for the media exhibits.

All of the information and interpretation is delivered on plasma display panels. There are no printed graphics or texts associated with the Aquarium exhibits.

Magian created the multimedia programs for the plasma display panels.  This included sourcing footage from libraries and shooting some of the video footage. The programs incorporate graphics, videos, photographs and texts. They convey information about the exhibits and animals on display.

Each program contains several individual segments or ‘stories’, each between twenty and fifty seconds in duration.  As visitors approach a plasma display panel a motion sensor triggers the program content.

Magian also created multi-channel soundscapes heard throughout the Aquarium and the adjacent areas of the Casino. The soundscapes were composed from recordings made by Les Gilbert.
