Monterey Bay Aquarium recently re-furbished their Entry area along with an exhibit interpreting the historic boilers from the Hovden Cannery which was the original occupant of the Aquarium building.

The Entry Area features an HD video produced by the Aquarium and seen in sync on five large LCD screens mounted in portrait mode. Magian was asked to design the technical infrastructure and provide the Magian MMaP System to accommodate the Aquarium’s need to have updateable electronic signage for admission and programs information.

This infrastructure also serves the adjacent Hovden Cannery Exhibit which features a number of videos produced from historic footage.

Using the MMaP System Content Manager, Aquarium staff are able to make changes to video, image and text content within the various programs.

The MMaP System also allows the Aquarium to enter content specifically for after-hours events such as corporate functions.The exhibit screens switch automatically at the appropriate time to display this information.
